21 Wonderful Years (I Samuel 25:32)
I Samuel 25:32, And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me: Abigail was a godly woman of courage, character and commitment. She was also, a brave woman of strong moral integrity who came to David at a time of great need. This graceful lady, had approached David and interceded for him to the Lord. In return, David blessed the Lord for sending Abigail to intervene. He also praised Abigail for her wise advice. Have you ever read a verse that you can relate to? For me, this is one of those verses. I can personally relate to I Samuel 25:32. You’ve heard of love at first sight. That’s exactly what happened to me on this day (24th October 1998) 21 years ago, when I met for the first time, the woman who would become my wife. What a day that day was! Today, I want to thank the Lord for His goodness towards me. The Lord knew just the woman I needed to complete me. We have shared many memorable moments together. Joy is not just my wife; she has always been my companion and best friend. She never hindered me from doing what I thought the Lord wanted me to do. She has always supported me laboring for the Lord. She has been “my cheerleader” all along the way, who has stuck by my side during all my ups and downs. We’ve been married for almost 20 years, and I’ve not yet seen the end of the many ways she shows her sacrificial love for me. It has been the joy of my life to be married to my wife, Joy. The Lord has blessed us with years of wonderful memories and experiences. Joy never gets tired of spending time with me and when we’re apart, she looks forward to the time until we’re back together. I’m thankful she still wants to be with me everywhere I go and that in her mind, I’m still her “favorite preacher”. I can honestly say that my life and ministry wouldn’t be what it is today had it not been for the Lord blessing me with my wife. Our desire has been that the Lord would use our marriage to honor and glorify Him and that it may bring people closer to Him. When I consider her love and patience with me, I am truly humbled, honored, and blessed. I love you, Joy! I know I don’t deserve you, and I’m so blessed to have you. Prayer: Father in Heaven, I want to thank You for my wife. She truly is a gift sent from above. Help me to never take her for granted and to always be grateful for her. In Jesus name, Amen.
